No. 1: These cards by Kathryn Whyte are so very, very sweet. I saw these in O'Suz in Charlottesville a few days ago and had to buy a few - they are even better in person. The paper! The simple and elegant script! Just perfect.

I've met many a'sweet people in this industry during the hours (and hours) spent at gift shows and craft shows and general online hanging out, but few are as genuine and filled with awesome as Shanna Murray. Check out these sweet printable gift tags she's offering on her site (all proceeds donated to Oxfam). I think they are just the ticket to finish off my little Christmas cheer packages.
I finally broke down a purchased a subscription to this awesome, amazing, super cool magazine. What took me so long? Not sure, but I do know that stores like O'Suz and Anthro were probably getting tired of me hovering around their fresh Anthology batches and reading them cover-to-cover in the stores. I was just short of bringing in a cup of tea, a blanket, and starting to dog ear the pages.
Just a few funnies I've found on the Pinterest lately that have left me chuckling at my computer screen. Who's with me on the lower left lava one? I have a permanent scar on my left leg to prove my incessant participation in this game as a child. One fall! One fall into the burning lava is all it took to leave me forever burned, folks. It's a scary pretend world out there, I tell you.
Just maybe I sent an email to Cute Husband this weekend with only the words "just sayin." and a link to this ring. Do you think that was too subtle?
Anything that can make old-school hip hop lyrics run through my mind before 7am is a thing that warrants a blog post, don't you think? Thank you, Paper Jam Press, for allowing that to be a reality this fine Thursday morning.
Goodness gracious almighty, fuzzimo.com and their amazing texture and brush downloads might have solved most (slash all) of my how-do-I-get-this-email-to-look-like-I-want-it-to design type problems. Amazing.

Just a few funny things I've found on the Pinterest lately that I thought maybe you'd enjoy on this fine Thursday morning. (Why, yes, I am avoiding doing actual design work by looking on Pinterest. You caught me. Fine. It's fine.)
I met one of the fine folks behind Seltzer Goods in New York in January and was instantly smitten with the cute glasses image on their "seven year pen". After showing my fellow appreciator-of-all-things-cool friend the card and hearing confirmation on the fact that this little pen really and truly does last seven years, got me both smitten and highly impressed. Now, the important question here is does anyone here think I could actually go seven years without losing a pen?!

Karen, from Hammocks & High Tea, is one of the hardest working people, um, ever. Seriously, y'all, ever. And, looking at her products and her press and her general out and about-ness in the design world, you can see the fruits of all of her hard work! I'm loving on these beautifully designed place mats today. Wish I could see these lining our coffee table right now from our last dinner in front of the Caps game instead of the old stained ones that are actually there. True story.

Y'all, it is hard to find a traditional-format calendar that I wouldn't be embarrassed to put up in our home. I absolutely love all of the beautifully designed pieces that only have the numbers. Really, I do. But a girl's also got to have a place to put plans that a certain Cute Husband can refer to when he needs to know what's on the books, you know? Until I walked into O'Suz in c'ville last weekend and saw this awesome number by Snow & Graham, I thought traditional-format calendars were only available in the small kitty, puppy and maybe a few unicorn varieties that Barnes & Noble seems to insist upon.
When I walked by Gleena's booth at the NY Gift Show (yeah...I'm still going through all of the amazing cards I took at that show...), I'm pretty sure a gasped. I mean, seriously, she had me at the color organization in her display. Also? Her products are amazing. I think maybe I was supposed to be a ceramic artist or something...just couldn't ever master that darn pottery wheel. Everything toppled and turned and wiggled until, well, it just plain old flopped on the spinning surface. Tragic, friends. So I guess that makes me extra in love with artist's that can really get the simple design and shape and perfection done just right. Gleena is so one of those artists.
Sometimes I think I should have a disclaimer on this little bloggy blog that says "this is my blog where I will write about all things gray and yellow and black and white and things with soft and simple design that makes me happy." You know, just to warn everyone that they will maybe see the same sort of things each day? I walked by Fluf Design's booth at the NY Gift show in August and my heart beat started to quicken, well, a lot. Literally this happens when I see good design happening...in a store, in a book, at a wholesale show....everywhere. It's kind of overwhelming in a most awesome way and makes me want to walk around with a sketchbook always in hand. Anyway, Fluf Design made my heart happy on an early morning spent perusing the aisles at NY Gift and going on the website this morning made it happen all over again.
ps - they don't have it listed on their website, but I feel like O'Suzannah in cville might carry the bags that Fluf designs and sells? Maybe??
I got this book on a recent shopping trip and, really and truly, it is pretty much everything I'd like to be in life. Is that bad?! Seriously, go check it out the next time you're in an Anthropologie and you tell me if you had to peel yourself up from the floor, too.
Sorry to just post about something that another blog has done (and, while I'm apologizing, sorry for my lack of weekend photos yesterday, too!), but this is just too good to pass up. Design*Sponge featured this amazing coffee table by Liz from Sticks and Bricks and it made my heart happy. I kind of melted...like, a lot. It's beautiful, isn't it? I've gotten approval from Cute Husband to do this on our dining room table (!!)...now I just have to pick out the right words. Any ideas, friends? I'm so excited.
I think Creature Comforts posted about this beautiful work last week. I'm almost positive. It's gorgeous, isn't it? Wapa on Etsy. Check it out. It's delicious.
